On Thursday, March 11 (2010), Frugal Fashion Week (FFW) debuts The Fashion Harvest, a style/culinary series featuring Toronto’s stylemakers. FFW has invited style writers, fashion bloggers and designers to host a series of intimate conversations. Guests are invited to engage in open, thorough discussions over an inspired menu.
BlogTO’s Fashion Editor Briony Smith will host the debut harvest, aptly titled “The Fashion Harvest: Mapping Toronto’s Fashion Landscape”. Briony has scoured the streets of Toronto, guiding fashionistas and frugalistas through Toronto’s most fashionable neighbourhoods. Briony’s columns have kept Toronto’s shoppers on their perfectly manicured toes, alerting them to everything from boutique openings to sample sales. As a notable fashion columnist (Briony is also a regular contributor to LouLou and Elle Canada), Briony’s sense of which boutiques and designers will influence Toronto’s fashion industry has earned her the reputation of being one of Toronto’s most knowledgeable fashion sources.
Culinary hotspot Nyood (1096 Queen St. West, Toronto ON, 416.466.1888, www.nyood.ca) provides the event’s stylish backdrop. Guests will come together around Nyood’s Communal Table. Celebrity Chef Roger Mooking (Nyood, Kultura, host of Food TV’s “Everyday Exotic”) and Chef de Cuisine Nelson Fernandez will create an inspired menu exclusively for the evening’s guests. Each guest will receive a free glass of Prosecco upon arrival and a ticket to Frock & Roll, FFW's biggest fundraiser event!
The Fashion Harvest is an intimate dinner party where fashion and food take centre stage. Each event features a different host and topic of discussion. Conversations are tailored to each guest’s unique point of view.
